A Note to Parents

If you are a parent who wants to place an order, I will need from you:

Good photos, either through e-mail or snail mail
text, with the very words that you use with your child, for instance, is Grandmother "Grandma" "Grammy" "Gram" "Savta" or what ??
an idea of your child's functioning level
and an idea of what else will work, such as icons or other photos available elsewhere
a good description of what you need
and if you are really organized, you can do this project yourself..... I once made all my own materials using a Polaroid camera, sheet protectors, clear contact paper, a big black marker, tape and glue. I now have a good printer, a nice digital camera, a decent scanner and a computer with excellent software. I believe these things should come with the diagnosis of autism, myself.
I plan to charge, for now, $20 a day for my work. This will include materials, unless you need some special binding from Kinko's or rush shipment with the post office. I will charge extra for that. You will get your money's worth, I scan after midnight so as not to bother my autistic son... I do homeschool him and I do have respite help. So, if you have an emergency, I will go as fast as I can...
I also reserve the right to say NO, if I must...

These mothers are either computer savvy, very creative, have great kids as critics, are fantastic teachers, are terrifically supportive, or all of the above. I learn from all of them, and I consider my work a collaboration. And these are not the only parents I learn from...
